Why is a needs analysis so important?

Consider a visit to your doctor’s office. Your doctor would not engender much faith if he or she prescribed medication without taking the time to learn what was wrong with you.

Your ultimate goal in doing a needs analysis is to develop a concrete idea of your client’s needs or wants. Understanding all of their needs and wants will help you identify the important benefits of your product or service that you should highlight in your discussion.
